Operations at the Center for the Arts during the CoronaVirus
While we’re resume our normal business hours at the Center for the Arts here in the White Mountains of Arizona, life doesn’t seem to want to get back to normal just yet. We were able to reopen in late May and are currently open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm and we encourage our volunteers and visitors to wear masks.
We have updated our events per the Governor’s latest executive order. As a result, we have cancelled the Cork ‘n Canvas for both July and August as of this morning (June 30, 2020). We have also contacted the musicians we had scheduled for our Summer Concert Series for July and August and cancelled those concerts as well. We have not yet cancelled our September concert or Cork ‘n Canvas. We’ll address those individually when the time comes.
We are maintaining our schedule for weekly, bi-monthly and monthly events as the Executive Order cancels activities with more than 50 people and we don’t have that many participants in our Paint with Friends, our writer’s groups, our music jam, Native Flute Circle or our newly re-formed Book Reader’s Group, the Book Hub. As such, we’re good with social distancing for these activities. We have a drawing class scheduled for July that will also be small enough that masks and distancing will enable us to go forward.
Please plan to stop by the Center for the Arts when you’re in the area. The artists need your support and the volunteers really enjoy interacting with our visitors.
