Center for the Arts is a local non-profit whose goal is to showcase local artists of all types. We are located at 251 Penrod Rd. in Show Low (the old Navajo County facility), Arizona. At our location we have a Gallery and Gift Shop along with space to host a variety of art-oriented classes and workshops ranging from painting, multi-media art techniques to musical events and writers workshops.
Our special events range from Cork n’ Canvas open house and art show, juried art shows, Paint with Friends, Music Jam, Arts Alliance of White Mountains Lakeside Writers, Writer’s Workshop and more. The public hours for The Center are 10AM to 4PM Tuesday through Saturday from March through October. November through February the hours are 10AM to 4PM Thursday through Saturday.
If you are an artist in the area consider joining our group, the Arts Alliance of the White Mountains (AAWM). We welcome both artist members and non-artists to join.
Benefits for our Artist Members include:
- Space Rental in Gallery & Gift Shop
Artists may schedule a meeting with the Gallery Committee to request that their works be hung in the Gallery or sold in the Gift Shop by calling Ann at the Center at 928-532-2296. The artwork is juried before hanging. This allows for a broad range of work at many levels to be shown.
- Classes and workshops
An artist may present an idea for a class or workshop to the Gallery Committee for approval. Presentations for classes and workshops need to include information such as name of your class, your experience in teaching this class, level or age of the perspective students, number of students allowed in the class, length of class, hours and days class will be offered, price for class, media to be used, and any equipment that you will furnish for the class.
- Members also includes promotion on this website – where we will list the artist by name and post an online brochure about the artist’s work plus link to the artist’s website.
